Academic Tutoring

In addition to spelling, I also provide tutoring in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, writing, math, and SAT/ACT and North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO) prep, and I provide college admissions counseling/advice. I generally prefer to do academic tutoring in small groups (capped at 6 students, with a group rate). However, subject to availability, I do also give 1-on-1 tutoring. Classes are generally targeted towards middle-school and high-school students.

Qualifications: I studied Mandarin for nine years, including three years at Yale University’s renowned Chinese department, and am currently writing a Mandarin textbook. I received a 2360 on my SAT and took numerous writing courses at Yale. I have a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Yale. I am fluent in Spanish. I have an extensive portfolio of published articles.

Procedure: If you are interested in academic tutoring for your child, please email me and let me know (1) which subject(s) you’re interested in, (2) what your child’s availability is, (3) your child’s age and grade, and (4) your preferred start date. I will note this information down. Once a suitable number of students have signed up, I will notify them, and we can begin group lessons. (Until that time, subject to availability, we can do 1-on-1 lessons if so desired.)
